Sign up for an Internet based E-mail account like Hotmail.com
Why?  Because with an Internet based E-mail account, you can stop into any Internet Cafe, Library etc. in Davos that has Internet access, go to the Hotmail.com (http://www.hotmail.com) web site and read and send E-mail back home.  You won't have to find a local number to dial into your ISP.  And it's free!

Another great site is  www.Mail2Web.com. Simply put in your e-mail address & password and read your home e-mail right from the web page!  No sign-ups needed - takes 15 seconds.

Don't forget to sign up for a frequent flyer account with the airlines
It's free to join and you'll be surprised how many miles you'll rack up going to Davos and back.  Also, consider applying for a credit card that is tied to the airline that you are flying.  You'll get 1 mile for every dollar you spend and most start you out with 5,000 miles just for signing up

Need a roommate?
If you are traveling alone to the games and would like to share a room with one or two competitors to save lodging costs, E-mail the webmaster and he'll put you in touch with others who are traveling solo.  You can also post a message in the guestbook - there are several in there now.

Invest in a hard case ski pack
Skis can get pretty beat up in route.   Bonnie S. suggests trying www.snowshack.com.

Set the IPWG logo as your desktop wallpaper
Windows users: Right click on the IPWG logo at the bottom of this page and choose "Set as wallpaper".  Then right click on your desktop (blank part of the screen) and click the "Appearance" tab and choose Black from the color options.

Bring your uniform and stuff to trade
Don't forget to bring hats, T-shirts, department patches, and other stuff to trade with other officers.
